BackCountry (or BC) is an acoustic Americana band in the Denver area of Colorado. BC is composed of Gary and Suzie Solomon, Mike and Bonnie Coates, Lee Patterson, and Jody Nelson. They enjoy playing a wide variety of music ranging from traditional Americana, bluegrass, gospel bluegrass, folk, and blues. Each of the members is a multi-instrumentalist and most of the members are singers as well. Instruments played in the band include guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bass, accordion, octive mandolin, autoharp, and occasionally something else that someone brings along! Upcoming BackCountry Concert

Hi Everyone,
Happy Fall! We have put together a great event for a great cause that we know will be a fun way to start your Christmas season.

Come out to the Maple Grove Grange, 3130 Youngfield St in Wheat Ridge for some old-fashioned family fun on Saturday, November 26.

We will start the evening at 5 pm with the Bluegrass Buddies, a group of bluegrass pickin' kids! BackCountry will follow them. After that we will have an intermission with lots of chocolate treats - a chocolate tasting bar along with hot chocolate and coffee. Jim Young will close our concert after the intermission. All you pickers bring your instruments and stick around for a jam to follow.

BackCountry is Lee Patterson, Mike & Bonnie Coats, Suzie & Gary Solomon, and Jody Nelson. All are seasoned musicians and especially good vocalists! They are an Americana band playing an eclectic mix of acoustic music - bluegrass, country, gospel, folk -  and I'm sure they will have a few Christmas songs to share. You can watch some videos of their performances on their website:

Jim Young, singing western and cowboy music as well as gospel, is one of my favorite singer songwriters. He has been performing at our festivals for a long time now. Don't miss a chance to see him. He doesn't get far from his home in Colorado Springs!

We are asking a $20 donation per person and all the money will go to Joy International. This ministry is based in Conifer, CO and has been in existence for 35 years. Go to their website to read more about them.

Please help us spread the word by inviting your friends. We know it will be a really wonderful evening.
